RCS MediaGroup SpA's (RCS.MI) shareholders Diego Della Valle and
the Benetton family will vote against the company's
400-million-euro ($521.6 million) capital increase at RCS's next
shareholders meeting in May, La Stampa reported on its website
Sunday, citing two separate letters sent to the company's
board.
Earlier this month, RCS said shareholders representing nearly
half of its stock had agreed to take part in the capital increase
to help in its struggle to cut costs, sell assets and refinance
debt.
Della Valle owns an 8.7% stake in the Italian publishing
company, while the Benetton family holds a 5% stake.
RCS Mediagroup's stakeholders include Fiat SpA (FIATY, F.MI),
Assicurazioni Generali (G.MI), Intesa Sanpaolo (ISNPY, ISP.MI) and
Mediobanca (MDIBY, MB.MI).
