Citrix Names Ex-Microsoft Executive as New CEO

Dow Jones News
Software company Citrix Systems Inc. named former Microsoft
Corp. executive Kirill Tatarinov as its next president and chief
executive.
Citrix said in July that CEO Mark Templeton would retire and
announced the formation of a board committee to review its
operations.
The company had faced pressure from activist investor Elliott
Management Corp., which had called for Citrix to sell or spin off
some divisions, buy back shares and reduce costs.
Citrix increased its buyback authorization by $500 million in
September. In November, the company said it would spin off part of
its meetings business into a new public company, cut jobs and slash
costs.
Citrix said Wednesday that interim CEO Robert Calderoni remains
executive chairman.
Mr. Tatarinov, 51, will have an initial base salary of $1
million. He joined Microsoft in 2002 after more than eight years at
BMC Software Inc. He was president of Microsoft's Business
Solutions Division from 2007 through July 2015.
