Frontier Communications is a Platinum Sponsor for the
fast-approaching Connecticut Open presented by United Technologies,
being held August 15-23, 2014 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at
Yale. The tournament is a WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) event
that is part of the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series.
Beginning Sunday, August 17, Frontier will have a booth staffed
by employees and job recruiters ready to tell visitors more about
the company’s products and services and career opportunities. In
addition, Frontier will have daily events and activities that
include:
SUNDAY, August 17 is KIDS DAY. The first 1,000 children
at the stadium entrance will receive a goody bag that will include
a sponge bull of Frontier’s brand ambassador “Frank the Buffalo.”
Little Frank will be the perfect thing to `clutch’ during the
nerve-wracking tie breakers and matches that are sure to occur
throughout this premiere event.
MONDAY, August 18 is Military Appreciation Night. As a
100 percent U.S.-based company, Frontier Communications is proud to
salute those who serve our country. Veterans and reservists

Joining Forces, the Military Spouse Employer Partnership, The
WorkPlace in Connecticut, the 100,000 Jobs Mission and Honor and
Remember.
The mission of Honor and Remember is to create, establish and
promote a nationally recognized flag as a visible reminder of the
lives lost in action or in service in defense of our freedom.
Frontier is committed to sponsoring more than 50 flags across the
United States and has presented Honor and Remember flags to five
Connecticut families. On Monday, August 18 at 6:30
p.m., Frontier will sponsor the presentation of an Honor and
Remember flag to the parents of Pvt. Sam Mercouriou of Suffield,
Connecticut. Pvt. Mercouriou, age 18, died on December 8, 2011 at
Fort Benning, Georgia. The ceremony at the Connecticut Still
Revolutionary Stage will commemorate this young soldier’s service
in the Connecticut Army National Guard and to his country.
August 17-23 attendees will enjoy LUCKY ROW, a
tournament-long event that singles out a row of eight during each
of the 12 sessions. The winners will enjoy the tournament even more
perched on their Frontier Seat Cushions. The company will also have
Booth giveaways and job hiring information at the Tournament
Plaza Stage as well as FREE phone charging at the
Frontier Charging Station.
The Connecticut Open is an excellent opportunity for the public
to learn more about Frontier Communications, says Dan McCarthy,
President and Chief Operating Officer. He noted, “Frontier’s
corporate headquarters has been in Connecticut since 1946, but we
will have a dramatically higher profile upon completion of our
transaction to acquire AT&T’s wireline business and statewide
fiber network that provides services to residential, commercial and
wholesale customers in Connecticut. Frontier will also acquire
AT&T’s U-verse video and satellite TV customers in
Connecticut.” McCarthy added, “The Connecticut Open is a perfect
occasion to introduce ourselves on a broad scale. We are a
Connecticut company that is 100 percent U.S.-based, hires
locally and believes in local engagement. We know Frontier will be
a great match for Connecticut and look forward to introducing
ourselves to Open attendees.”
