Staples Canada Superpower Your School Contest
winners announced
TORONTO, April 22, 2016 /CNW/ - Staples Canada announced today the winners of
the 2016 Superpower Your School Contest. The contest, held in
collaboration with Earth Day Canada,
was open to publicly-funded elementary and secondary schools across
Canada and ran from December 3, 2015 to January 29, 2016. Almost 630 schools
submitted entries detailing their environmental initiatives. Ten
schools, two from each region, have been selected to receive
$25,000 worth of technology products
each.
Ontario
- Elementary: St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Elementary
School, Hamilton, ON
- Secondary: George S. Henry Academy, Toronto, ON
Western Region
- Elementary: Mildred Hall School,
Yellowknife, NT
- Secondary: Queen Elizabeth High
School, Edmonton, AB
British Columbia
- Elementary: Dewdney Elementary School, Dewdney, BC
- Secondary: R.E. Mountain Secondary School, Langley, BC
Quebec
- Elementary: École Saint-David, Saint-David-de-Falardeau, QC
- Secondary: École Polyvalente Des Monts, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, QC
Atlantic Region
- Elementary: Elsipogtog First Nation School, Elsipogtog First
Nation, NB
- Secondary: Cambridge-Narrows Community School, Cambridge-Narrows, NB
Each school was told they won during surprise assemblies held in
March and April. The schools were also told that their new tech
will be bullfrogpowered® with 100% clean, pollution-free
energy for one year courtesy of Staples and Bullfrog Power. A TerraCycle Zero
Waste Box was also donated to each school to help them recycle
snack wrappers.

lip balm, our 10 winners have shown incredible leadership,
