PR Newswire (US)
SHANGHAI, China, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- CSMG/ADVENTIS, a global
consulting firm advising top management in the telecommunications,
technology and digital media sectors, announced today that it is
co-hosting the Branded Mobile Services in China Seminar, being held
in Beijing, April 24 and April 25. CSMG/ADVENTIS is a TMNG Global
company. Co-hosting the seminar with CSMG/ADVENTIS will be China's
Value Added Services Committee (VASC), a Ministry of Information
Industry (MII) - China's regulator - led government firm offering
services for companies in the telecom value added services sector.
With more than 390 million wireless subscribers and 29% mobile
penetration, China represents the world's largest and fastest
growing mobile market. In Europe, North America and mostly recently
Japan, MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators), service provider
deals and enhanced licensing agreements have begun to proliferate.
Now there is renewed interest in the role that international brands
and international operators can play in the Chinese mobile market,
working in cooperation with local operators. "Branded Mobile
Services are based on the same business models that are utilized by
MVNOs in the West. In China we believe the opportunity for brands
to work with local mobile carriers is different than operators in
North America, Europe and Japan, but no less interesting," said
Jesse Parker, managing director of the CSMG/ADVENTIS Shanghai
office. "The seminar will help improve understanding of potential
wireless business in this emerging sector of China's mobile market,
as well as bring together key participants to facilitate deeper
understanding and foster new partnerships." The seminar will
address the following objectives: * Deepen understanding of the
following emerging international and Chinese business models in the
wireless space: i. Virtual Network Operator models ii. Enhanced
service provider models iii. Licensing models * Help to identify
potential opportunities for cooperation between Chinese wireless
carriers and international companies * Identify potential
hurdles/difficulties in addressing emerging Branded Mobile Services
business opportunities in china * Enable greater understanding of
Chinese wireless operator requirements * Facilitate networking
between Chinese operators and international companies Attendees
will include senior executives from the Chinese Ministry, Chinese
Telecom Operators as well as international MVNO and telecom
executives. For more information on the seminar, please visit
