LONDON--AMEC PLC (AMEC.LN), an international engineering and
project management company, said Monday it has been appointed by
Nexen Petroleum U.K. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Ltd.
(0883.HK), to provide engineering, procurement and construction
services for their North Sea offshore assets.
MAIN FACTS:
-Reimbursable contract will run for six years, with the option
of two extensions, each for a further two years.
-It is estimated that 150 jobs will be created onshore and
offshore to support the contract's operations.
-No financial details disclosed.
-Work will cover operational modifications and brownfield
projects.
-Shares at 0830 GMT up 5 pence, or 0.46%, at 1082 pence valuing
the company at 3.21 billion pounds.
