Piper Jaffray Hires Managing Director Jason Harkness in Technology Investment Banking

Piper Jaffray Companies (NYSE: PJC), a leading investment bank
and asset management firm, is pleased to announce the hiring of
Jason Harkness as a managing director in its technology investment
banking group. He will work in partnership with Michael Hirsch,
serving as co-heads of the internet & digital media sectors,
and based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Harkness joined Piper Jaffray from Raymond James, where he was a
managing director and head of internet and digital media investment
banking. Previously, he spent over seven years at Pinnacle
Ventures, where he helped lead the firm’s investments in the
internet and digital media space, including BlueKai (acquired by
Oracle), Chegg (NYSE: CHGG), Diapers.com (acquired by Amazon.com),
Gilt Groupe Holdings, Inc. (acquired by Hudson’s Bay Co.), Kabam,
Pandora Media, Inc. (NYSE: P), Right Media (acquired by Yahoo!
Inc.) and Zipcar (acquired by Avis Budget Group, Inc.), among many
other high-profile transactions.

Harkness received a Master of Business Administration degree
from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and bachelor’s
