Need a vacation from the election season? As the never-ending
battle for presidential power plays out on the national stage,
Spirit is delivering new escape options from the nation’s capital
following the madness of Election Day. So halt those social media
rants, turn off your news alerts, and let’s all agree Florida’s
Gulf Coast is the ideal candidate for a winter getaway. Spirit
Airlines now has you covered, starting new daily nonstop service
between the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall
Airport (BWI) and the Fort Myers Southwest Florida International
Airport (RSW) and the Tampa International Airport (TPA), starting
November 10, 2016.
"Spirit customers love saving money on air travel and these new
routes give the Baltimore/Washington area even more ultra-low cost
options,” said Mark Kopczak, Spirit Airlines' Vice President of
Network Planning. "Spirit's friendly service combined with our
ultra-low Bare Fares™ with Frill Control™ makes that dream Florida
vacation more affordable than ever before."
Spirit continues to grow at BWI, bringing new daily nonstop
service to/from the Orlando International Airport (MCO), Boston
Logan International Airport (BOS), and Detroit Metropolitan Airport
(DTW) earlier this year. With these additions, Spirit will operate
nonstop service from Baltimore/Washington to 14 cities, including
Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, Fort
Lauderdale, Fort Myers (starting 11/10/16), Houston, Las Vegas, Los
Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Myrtle Beach, Orlando, and Tampa
(starting 11/10/16).
“Spirit Airlines continues to grow its ultra-low fare service at
BWI Marshall Airport,” said Ricky Smith, Chief Executive Officer
for BWI Marshall. “Since first landing at BWI Marshall in
2012, the airline has rapidly added new flight options for
customers from throughout the Washington-Baltimore region.”
