BEAVERTON, Ore., June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix, Inc., a
leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring
instrumentation, today announced that it has made a sizeable gift
of $250,000 to the School of Business
Administration (SBA) at Portland State
University (PSU) to help build the new
School of Business. To recognize the contribution, the
university will name a public lobby and event space in honor of
Tektronix.

With more than 3,000 students, the SBA is the largest business
school in Oregon. It has far
outgrown its current building, requiring students to take business
classes at various locations across campus. A new $60 million building will triple the square
footage and add new classrooms, auditoriums, an event space,
offices, study rooms, and common areas. The project will be funded
with $20 million in philanthropic
gifts and $40 million in state
bonds.
"Trained business managers are critical to the success of any
business and that foundation building happens at the collegiate

preparing students for challenges they will face in real-world
business environments. We're also excited to participate in the
creation of a new event space in downtown Portland for students and the broader
community to enjoy."
The SBA has deep connections to business in the Northwest
region, illustrated by the strong support the program has received
for its building fund. Including the $250,000 gift made by Tektronix, the expansion
project has less than $7 million left
to raise in private gifts. The program's curriculum was developed
with involvement from local companies. All SBA graduates are
required to do a capstone consulting project in partnership with a
local business, and all MBA students are required to complete a
two-week "international experience" overseas--one of the few
universities in the country with this requirement.

In February, Tektronix announced that it donated more than
$22,000 of equipment to the Fariborz
Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at PSU.
