Audi AG will use short-time work until at least the middle of
next year, as the German car maker expects the semiconductor
shortage to continue into the next year and burden production.
In general, Audi continues to guarantee employment at its sites
in Germany until 2029 as previously announced, its human-resources
chief Sabine Maassen told The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday at the
IAA Mobility motor show.
So far, around 16,000 of the Volkswagen AG subsidiary's
employees at various locations have been affected by short-time
work due to the chip shortage, she said.
