GXX Gold Basin Resources Corporation

VANCOUVER, BC (TSX-V: GXX) is pleased to announce it has received confirmation of priority status from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources regarding 18,432 additional hectares of its recent coal permit applications. The area classified as "priority status" represents two of the three sections of land applied for (see NR dated June 10, 2008). Gold Star purchased a 100% interest in a number of Coal Dispositions located on the east side of the Pasquia Hills of East-Central Saskatchewan.

Of the two land sections under priority status, the northeastern section is located immediately southwest and adjoining the property recently announced by Weststar Resources Corp. (TSX-V: WER). In their news release dated June 23, 2008 Weststar reported their property contained an 18.84 meter intercept of coal in a historic drill hole made in 1994.

The Coal Disposition Applications purchased by Gold Star are located approximately 80 kilometers northwest of the recently announced coal discovery by Goldsource Mines Inc., north of Hudson Bay, Sask. Goldsource Mines Inc. (see Goldsource News Release May 5th, 2008) announced the results from 47 coal samples submitted from the Saskatchewan coal intercepts for two core holes representing 26 meters and 32.5 meters respectively of coal seam, including 22.6 meters of continuous coal in each hole. The coal was reportedly intercepted starting 80 meters below the surface.
