Deutsche Boerse AG (DB1.XE) said Thursday that it has appointed Michael Klaus as chairman of the Exchange Council of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The German marketplace organizer said Mr. Klaus succeeds Michael Ruediger, who has left the council.

The Exchange Council is a supervisory body with duties such as appointing and monitoring the stock exchange management, and issuing exchange rules, fee regulations and the conditions for transactions on the exchange.
