Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. (IMP.JO) said Wednesday it has appointed Dr. Mandla Gantsho as its new chairman from Oct. 21, replacing Dr. Khotso Mokhele after six years in the role.

The South African-based platinum producer said Dr. Gantsho has been an independent non-executive director of the group since August 2010. He is also chairman of Sasol Ltd. (SOL.JO), chairman of Ithala Development Finance Corporation Ltd. and chief executive officer of Africa Rising Capital.

Dr. Mokhele was appointed to the board in June 2004 as a non-executive director and was appointed chairman in 2009.
