                                ISSUE OF EQUITY


On 11th March 2003 Charteris PLC (the "Company") allotted 60,000 new ordinary
shares of 1p each following the exercise of options held by an employee of the
Company.  The options were exercised at a price of 6.83p each.  Application has
been made for admission to AIM of such new ordinary shares, which will rank pari
passu in all respects with all other ordinary shares now in issue.  Admission is
expected to take place and dealings commence in the new ordinary shares on 18
March 2003.


Following admission, the enlarged issued share capital of the Company will be
#418,735.14.
