Update on Kianika-1
Presentations at Canaccord Genuity and RBS Investor Conferences
Dominion announces that it has been advised by Maurel & Prom, operator of the
Mandawa PSA in Tanzania (Dominion 10% working interest) that the Kianika-1 well
has reached the planned depth of 3,040 m. The targeted carbonates of Mid
Jurassic Mtumbei formation were found with good reservoir characteristics, which
confirmed the rationale for investigating this play.
No hydrocarbon shows being encountered (possibly due to lack of effective
lateral seal), the well has been plugged and abandoned.
Under a farm-out agreement with Maurel et Prom, Dominion's funding requirement
in respect of the Kianika-1 well on the Mandawa licence was reduced from 100% to
20% of the drilling costs and to 10% of associated expenses. Dominion retains
a 10% interest in all profits earned from the Mandawa licence.
The Kianika-1 well is the second and last commitment well of the Initial
Exploration Phase. Maurel & Prom is further evaluating the well results to
determine the way forward with this block.
Dominion participated in the annual "RBS Equities Oil Services and E&P Seminar
2010" this week in London and also the "2010 Canaccord Genuity Global Energy
Conference" in Miami. A copy of the conference presentation will be made
available on the Company's website later today. The presentation updates the
Company's most recent activities focused on offshore Tanzania Block 7 and the
Albertine rift straddling the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic
of Congo.
