NEW YORK, Feb. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Logicalis
Healthcare Solutions, the healthcare-focused practice within
Logicalis US, an international IT solutions and managed services
provider (www.us.logicalis.com), today announced a new service desk
offering – Service Desk for Epic. The new service will help
hospital CIOs make the best use of their internal Epic resources by
giving physicians, nurses and other clinicians immediate access to
a pool of Epic IT specialists for tier-one support. This will allow
hospital IT staff to focus on broader issues such as workflow and
user training that will increase clinician – and ultimately,
patient – satisfaction.
"Knowing that Logicalis has a rich heritage in both service desk
capabilities and delivering Epic solutions, a number of our
healthcare clients requested that we create a service desk offering
specifically tailored to Epic implementations," says Ed Simcox, Practice Leader, Logicalis Healthcare
Solutions. "Through Logicalis' new Service Desk for Epic, we want
to empower our healthcare customers to make the best and highest
use of their Epic resources. By forwarding questions about password
resets, recording or locating orders, and other day-to-day tier-one
issues to Logicalis, hospitals' internal Epic resources will be
able to focus their time and attention on optimization of their
Epic environments."
The Epic Service Desk from Logicalis offers a scalable,
consumption-based model that allows hospitals to better leverage
their internal IT personnel by avoiding repeat calls for known
issues. With a 24x7 service desk partner experienced in Epic
implementations, end-user downtime can be minimized and, in
instances where level two support is needed, root cause data can be
delivered to internal teams to aid in management decisions. When
calls come into an Epic service desk staffed with certified
professional agents, first-contact resolutions increase, allowing
hospital CIOs to capitalize on existing investments in Epic
personnel, precious resources in today's electronic health record
(EHR)-enabled healthcare world.
"When a physician or nurse is struggling with the use of a new
Epic EHR solution, it can be very frustrating for that clinician
and, ultimately, for their patients," says Sara Hunter, Service Delivery Director, Service
Desk, Logicalis US. "Clinician satisfaction will rise significantly
if they have a service desk they can call that is intimately
familiar with Epic and can answer any number of tier-one support
questions on the first call – a service that is governed by ITIL
best practices and meaningful service level agreements with a
nearly 20-year history in Epic implementations and deep experience
delivering healthcare-specific service desk support."
To help healthcare CIOs determine if the Logicalis Service Desk
for Epic is right for their organizations, Logicalis has produced a
brief introductory video and is inviting interested healthcare IT
professionals to stop by the Logicalis Healthcare Solutions booth
at HIMSS17 (booth #779) to talk with Logicalis' healthcare IT
experts.
