Reporters invited to experience VR simulation training and
other smart technologies revolutionizing policing in
Canada

Western Canada roadshow, where the
latest smart technologies in public safety will be on display.
Reporters will have a chance to don VR headsets and be immersed in
real-world scenarios used to train police officers in a controlled
environment. They will learn de-escalation techniques and practise
split-second decision making in the high-stress simulated scenario
of real field work.
The roadshow is an opportunity to learn about the latest AI
revolutionizing law-enforcement in Canada, including:
- Body cameras, currently being rolled out by police across the
province and country;
- Draft One, a software product that drafts high-quality police
reports in seconds based on auto-transcribed body-worn camera
audio;
- The latest fleet of in-car cameras equipped with Automated
Licenced Plate Recognition (ALPR) software, helping combat
Canada's unprecedented crisis in
auto theft.

Background
The 2024 Roadshow event will provide
on-site product demonstrations to educate and train police officers
and will feature various new innovative technologies,
including:
- TASER 10 Firing Range: With a maximum range of
13.7 metres, the TASER 10 firing range creates more time and space
to de-escalate and resolve conflicts.
- Axon Air Flight Centre: Axon Air is an
end-to-end drone solution providing secure, wireless live streaming
and remote piloting capabilities to improve efficiency and outcomes
across modern policing.
- Virtual Reality (VR) Simulator: Axon's
immersive VR training prepares police officers for complex,
real-world situations through immersive training.
- Axon Fleet 3 demonstration vehicle: An
advanced in-car video system designed to boost safety,
transparency, and efficiency across police forces.
The roadshow will also serve as an opportunity for police
forces and other public sector organizations to give feedback and
suggestions directly to Axon team members.
