CHICAGO, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mittal Steel USA is idling two f its blast furnaces indefinitely to bring production capabilities in line ith reduced levels of demand for light flat-rolled products. The company is idling one blast furnace each in its east and west regions -- at Mittal Steel USA - Cleveland, and at Mittal Steel USA - Indiana Harbor in East Chicago, Ind. While the furnaces are off line, required maintenance will be performed. The furnaces will be reactivated when market conditions warrant increased production levels. No employees will be laid off.
