Business Wire
VitalStream, Inc. (NASDAQ:VSTH), the world leader in audio and
video streaming, today announced that it has named Michel Maeso as
the company's executive vice president of global sales and
marketing. Maeso will oversee the company's worldwide sales and
marketing operations and is charged with expanding both global
revenues and the VitalStream(R) brand through a new aggressive
sales and marketing strategy. Maeso will report directly to
VitalStream's chairman and CEO, Jack Waterman. Prior to joining
VitalStream, Maeso was executive vice president of worldwide sales
for Packet Design, a leader in route analytics technology for
managing large IP networks. At Packet Design, he led sales to both
expand internationally and double revenues year over year. He has
also served as vice president of sales for Speedera Networks, a
provider of global outsourced Web infrastructure solutions, cited
twice by PriceWaterhouseCoopers as one of Silicon Valley's 10
fastest-growing private companies. While at Speedera, Maeso
transformed its sales organization from a purely tele-sales team to
an enterprise selling organization, resulting in sales revenue
increase by multiples that helped fuel the company's rapid growth.
Speedera was acquired by Akamai Technologies in June 2005 in a
stock transaction reportedly valued at approximately $172 million
at close. Maeso replaces Michael Linos, who has assumed the role of
the company's vice president of strategic sales, reporting to
Maeso. Linos, who built VitalStream's sales team, will now focus on
strategic sales initiatives. Before joining VitalStream in 2003,
Linos was vice president of sales at NTT/Verio. "VitalStream
already provides the world's most popular content providers with
reliable, scalable, content delivery technology," said Maeso. "The
executive team shares my vision that the demand for services to
help companies monetize their content will continue to increase
rapidly. Our recent acquisition of in-stream ad solutions provider
Eonstreams enables us to provide a full solution to help
enterprises earn the most from their content. I am excited about
VitalStream's strategic position in this growth market." "We
brought Maeso on to continue the momentum of our sales team, which
has cultivated long-lasting relationships with several of the
world's leading content providers," said Jack Waterman,
VitalStream's chairman and CEO. "Maeso's experience and leadership
will play a critical role in ensuring that VitalStream continues to
attract the biggest names in entertainment and advertising,
equipping them with a premium solution and quality of service,
contributing to our consistent rapid growth." Prior to joining
Speedera, Maeso was recognized for outstanding achievements in
former positions with AT&T, BellSouth and PictureTel
Corporation. Earlier in his career, he served as vice president of
visual networks for Intellisys Group, the largest A/V integrator in
the US. About VitalStream VitalStream, Inc., a wholly owned
