Unilever PLC (UL) ADRs were down about 9% to $56.59 in
heavier-than-average volume Tuesday.
Unilever said earlier that it expects 2019 underlying sales
growth to be below its guidance of the lower half of a 3-5%
multi-year range.
"Due to challenges in certain markets, we expect a slight miss
to our full year underlying sales growth delivery," said Chief
Executive Alan Jope.
For 2020, the multinational consumer goods company said it
expects first-half growth will be below 3%. Full-year underlying
sales growth is forecast to be in the lower half of the multi-year
range, Unilever said.
