YMCA and Clean Green Energy Sign Master Agreement for Renewable
Energy Projects
BRIGHTON, MI--(Marketwired - Feb 13, 2014) - YMCA and JCC of
Greater Toledo (YMCA) have signed a Master Agreement with Clean
Green Energy LLC (CGE) for renewable energy projects at YMCA
facilities throughout Michigan and Ohio. CGE and YMCA have
partnered to create total immersion learning environments with
these renewable energy projects.
Glen King, Chief Development Officer for YMCA, along with key
volunteers, crafted the Net Zero Vision ten years ago. "When we're
done with our vision, we'll have a 450 bed campus that uses less
energy than is generated on-site," said King. "We are pleased to be
at the table with CGE, collaborating visionaries, who recognize
this will help youth develop skills and interests needed to meet
the host of new challenges and opportunities the 21st century
brings."
Under this Master Agreement, mutually beneficial, site specific
Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are being developed to fulfill
YMCA's Net Zero Vision. YMCA's only obligation is purchasing the
power generated at a discount to their current utility rates.
To bring further sustainability, YMCA is also part of CGE's "NET
ZERO Energy Program(SM)," which enables the YMCA to increase their
discount rate to a maximum of 100% through the pre-purchase of
energy via CGE's energy attributes. This program will provide
scholarships and renewable education to the YMCA facilities.
Master Agreement includes CGE's WINDe20® on-site wind turbines,
as well as Solar, Geothermal, Biomass, and Cree® LED Energy
Efficiency upgrades. "Our Energy Audit team is currently defining
opportunities to bring maximum sustainability to these YMCA
facilities," stated Bryan Zaplitny, President of CGE.
YMCA Storer Camps in Jackson, Michigan is slated to be the pilot
PPA site. Mr. King elaborated that Storer will serve as a "proving
ground" for expanding this vision nationwide.
About the organizations: CGE has been innovators in the
alternative energy industry since 1989, believing that renewable
resources should be available to everyone at a lower, fixed cost.
Recently, CGE announced merger plans into McKenzie Bay
International, LLC. (PINKSHEETS: MKBY). CGE private placement
investments of up to $4,950,000 from qualified investors are
available pre-merger, http://www.cleangreenenergyllc.com.
YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo represent thirty-five locations
in Ohio and Michigan. The 'Y' is the nation's leading nonprofit
committed to strengthening communities through youth development,
healthy living and social responsibility.
