SINGAPORE--Cosco Corp. (Singapore) Ltd. (F83.SG) said Friday
that its unit has won a contract from Maersk Line to build seven
ships.
Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard Co. Ltd., a unit of Cosco Corp. will
build seven 20-foot equivalent container vessels, the company said
in a regulatory filing. "Cosco Zhoushan and Maersk Line have agreed
to keep the contract price confidential," it said.
Maersk Line is the global container division and the largest
operating unit of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, according to its
website.
According to the terms of contract, Cosco Zhoushan will have to
deliver the vessels between April 2017 and November 2017.
Maersk Line also has the option to place additional orders for
two more ships within eight months as part of the contract, it
added.
