Volkswagen of America, Inc., Volkswagen AG's (VOW.XE) U.S. unit, Tuesday reported it sold 29,066 units in July, a 22% increase over prior year sales.

-Volkswagen said that July 2011 has been the best July since 2002

- "July was a strong month and signaled a good start for the second half of the year," said Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen of America, Inc.
