TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 2001--The Thomson Corporation (TSE:TOC)
today announced the sale of The Chronicle-Journal in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and
its ancillary operations to Horizon Operations (Canada) Ltd. for an
undisclosed amount.
The Chronicle-Journal morning newspaper publishes seven days a week,
serving Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario with an average circulation of
33,000 and nearly 40,000 on Saturdays. The Chronicle-Journal is considered the
information and marketing leader in its region and consists of a host of
businesses including commercial printing and regional distribution services.
Richard J. Harrington, President and Chief Executive Officer of The
Thomson Corporation, said, "The Chronicle-Journal has done an outstanding job
