Board Changes


The Board of China Goldmines plc (AIM: CGM) announces the resignation on Monday
5 May 2008 of Karl Watkin MBE from the Board of Directors. Mr. Watkin played a
leading role in bringing China Goldmines to AIM in February 2006 and has been a
director of the Company since its incorporation.


Noting Mr. Watkin's contribution to the Company, Frank Vanspeybroeck, CEO
commented:


"Karl has played a key role in the establishment of China Goldmines as a gold
producer. The Board wishes to acknowledge the support that Karl has provided to
the Company and thank him for his positive contribution to its growing success.
We wish him the very best for the future."
