DIRECTORATE CHANGE
London, England and San Francisco, California - 13 February 2017
- RhythmOne plc ("RhythmOne" or the "Company", LSE AIM: RTHM) is
pleased to appoint Mr. Edward ("Ted") Hastings, age 42, as an
Executive Director of the Company, effective immediately.
Based in Waterloo, Ontario, Ted brings over fifteen years'
experience in building successful software, Internet and digital
media companies. Most recently, Ted served as the CEO of Perk Inc.
("Perk", TSE: PER), the mobile-first supply side rewards and
engagement platform that was acquired by RhythmOne in an all stock
transaction, completed on 19 January 2017.
Prior to Perk, Ted served as CEO for Rebellion Media, a
diversified digital media company, where he completed 13
acquisitions in the first two years of operation, and was
instrumental in generating $80 million in annual revenues in the
company's first complete calendar year. Previously, Ted served as
President at Geosign Corporation, which was subsequently sold to
Moxy Media/Tsavo Media, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American
Capital. Assuming the role of President and CEO at these firms, he
built out the executive teams, managed company restructuring and
oversaw key financing and acquisition activities - which included
closing one of the largest private equity financing deals in Canada
in 2007. Tsavo Media was subsequently acquired by Cyberplex Inc.
(TSX: CX). Prior to Geosign, Ted was CEO at sales and distribution
software company Global Beverage Group, where he oversaw financial
and operational budgets, defined sales and marketing processes and
negotiated multi-million dollar customer contracts. He was
responsible for the subsequent sale and successful integration of
Delivery Division (formerly Global Beverage Group) into 3M, a
Fortune 100 company. Ted began his career as an associate in the
Audit division of Deloitte & Touche LLP in Canada.
Ted currently serves on the boards of Push Strength, a sports
technology company that seeks to improve human potential in
athlethic performance, and Fongo, a low-cost phone service
targeting Canadian small businesses. Previously, he served on the
boards of Maintenance Assistant, Coreworx, Brick Brewing and
Communitech. He was inducted into the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame
as Intrepid award winner in 2010, and named to Canada's Top 40
under 40 for 2009. He also served as head executive coach of
HyperDrive, a $30 million venture fund located in Waterloo,
Ontario. Ted holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from
Wilfrid Laurier University.
"Ted brings significant digital advertising, publishing and
ad-tech experience to the RhythmOne Board, which will be critical
as our business continues to evolve within a competitive and
dynamic industry," said Raj Chellaraj, Non-executive Chairman of
RhythmOne. "Ted's proven commercial and M&A expertise will be
instrumental as the Company actively pursues continued growth. We
are glad to welcome Ted to the RhythmOne Board."
"Ted has significant tenure within online advertising and
ad-tech, and brings invaluable insight into the forces shaping the
sector. Given his long and successful tenure in the indusry, he is
uniquely qualified to help drive both organic and inorganic growth
for the Company, as an Executive Director on the Board," said S.
Brian Mukherjee, CEO of RhythmOne. "We are thrilled to have Ted
join the Executive team and the Board."
