Italian drinks company Davide Campari SpA (CPR.MI) said Wednesday it has acquired Wild Turkey, a bourbon whiskey producer, from Pernod Ricard (RI.FR) for $575 million in cash, building its U.S. market presence.

The acquisition boosts the weight of Campari's business outside Italy to almost two-thirds of its revenue, which was EUR942 million in 2008. Campari has invested a total of $1.1 billion in U.S. acquisitions in recent years.
