Shoe retailer Geox SpA (GEO.MI) said Thursday its April sales were lower than in March.

"The scenario is very difficult and uncertain. We are still confident we can maintain sales in 2009, in line with last year," a company executive said during a conference call.

Geox said it has no plans to change its pricing strategy and will remain a mid to high price range brand.
