PARIS--French car maker Renault SA (RNO.FR) said Tuesday it had
signed an agreement with Bollore (BOL.FR) to produce and develop
electric vehicles for the conglomerate's urban car-sharing
business.
Under the new agreement, Renault will assemble Bollore's
electric cars, known as Bluecars, in its factory in Dieppe in
Northern France, from the second semester of 2015. Until now, these
cars were produced in Italy in partnership with Pininfarina Spa
(PINF.MI).
Renault will also develop a three-seater version of Bollore's
four-seater electric car.
The two companies said they would set up a joint venture to
develop Bollore's urban car-sharing business across the country.
The joint venture will be held 70% by Bollore and 30% by
Renault.
