The public prosecutor in Munich confirmed Friday that it is
investigating 17 Airbus employees, as well as other individuals, as
part of an investigation into industrial espionage in Germany.
The investigation concerns information that appears to have come
from an authority belonging to the German Federal Ministry of
Defense, the prosecutor's office said, but didn't give further
details.
Previously, German media had reported that the prosecutor was
also investigating employees of the German armed forces.
Airbus said earlier this week that it informed German
authorities of potential wrongdoing by several employees with
respect to customer documents related to two future German
procurement projects. Airbus said it was fully cooperating with
authorities.
The company declined to comment further on Friday.
