Spamina, a leading Spanish cloud email security company, has selected messaging security solutions from Commtouch® (Nasdaq:CTCH) to enhance its Cloud Email Firewall offering, the two companies announced today. Spamina plans to integrate Commtouch technology in its next upgrade, scheduled for September 2011.

Spamina provides a range of cloud-based email security services for enterprises, service providers and managed service providers. The addition of Commtouch technology will improve Spamina’s spam protection offering and complement its own filtering technology.

In addition to the major improvement in spam detection rates, Spamina noted a measureable reduction in spam entering the network. Utilizing Commtouch GlobalView™ Mail Reputation service, Spamina is able to reject a significant amount of suspicious emails before they ever enter its cloud-based network. Reducing email at the perimeter improves spam processing efficiency as well as spam detection. Fewer suspicious emails entering the network also translates directly into reduced operating expenses for Spamina customers by greatly simplifying management of spam quarantines.

Commtouch’s unique messaging security suite offers the highest level of spam, malware and phishing protection for cloud-based security providers. The company’s patented Recurrent Pattern Detection (RPD™) technology is able to detect unwanted emails in any language or format, providing spam protection for all geographical regions.
