TORONTO, Nov. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - The Stars Group Inc.
launched the next phase of its PokerStars marketing campaign
#GameOn this week, reigniting the poker-based feud between
international funny man Kevin Hart
and sporting legend Usain Bolt. This time, Hart and Bolt are joined
by Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu to face-off in #GameOn
challenges designed to test the core qualities and skills of poker,
including reading opponents, emotional control, and
bluffing.
In the first #GameOn video of the new social media series, the
global superstars are put to the test by Negreanu, who is the
all-time live poker tournament leader with $34.3 million in earnings, to see who can
maintain emotional control the longest while sitting in an ice
bath. The new challenge follows the first #GameOn installment,
which launched earlier this year with the pair trying to outsmart
each other in a series of social media videos where they sought to
out-do each other with social media posts.
The #GameOn series will culminate in a heads-up battle between
Bolt and Hart at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) this
coming January, where hundreds of poker players from around the
world will converge on the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in The
Bahamas from January 6–14.
Tournament buy-ins range from $160 up
to $100,000 for the Super High
Roller.
"Usain may be a quick thinker but let's see what happens when
he's taken away from the track," said Hart. "If I were a betting
man, I'd say I'll be the one celebrating in the sun in January. It
will be so easy, like taking candy from a baby."
Usain remains confident, however, saying, "Kevin may be the
funniest, but jokes are not going to get him anywhere against me at
the poker table. I know how to keep my cool under pressure and
that's what it takes to win, my friend."
"#GameOn is another example of our global marketing commitment
to continue growing the game of poker and highlighting the fun and
social nature of the game," said Eric
Hollreiser, Vice President of Corporate Communications of
The Stars Group. "It's great to see the how the smarts of a poker
battle play out between these two greats while reaching out to
players new and old."
