information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Tesoro Corp. (TSO) restarted units at its 94,000 barrel-a-day
refinery in Hawaii Wedensday is bringing them to planned operating
rates, the company said. Tesoro had shut down unspecified process
units at the refinery Monday after a piping component failure.
PBF Energy Company LLC said it reduced the production rate of a
key gasoline-making unit Aug. 15 at its 170,000-barrel-a-day Toledo
refinery for up to four days while it performs maintenance work,
according to a notice filed with Ohio regulators.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) said Aug. 15 that all production units
remained shut down at its 195,000-barrel-a-day refinery in Memphis,
Tenn., which was forced to shut down after an Aug. 5 fire. It
couldn't estimate when it would restart units, a spokesman
said.
ConocoPhillips (COP) said on Aug. 11 it was planning to repair
the transistors at its 247,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Sweeny,
Texas, which could effect the refinery's FCCU, according to a
government filing.
Irving Oil said its 300,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Saint John,
New Brunswick, Canada, had a "minor upset" on Aug. 11 that did not
effect supply.
ConocoPhillips said on Aug. 9 its 195,000 barrel-a-day refinery
in Ponca City, Okla., was restarting after a storm-related power
outage on Monday.
Western Refining (WNR) said on Aug. 9 that its 125,000
barrel-a-day refinery in El Paso, Texas, was at normal processing
rates after a power outage on Sunday forced a shutdown of the
FCCU.
Motiva Enterprises LLC said on Aug. 6 that the hydrocracker at
its 233,500 barrel-a-day refinery in Norco, La., was shut down
because of unspecified reasons.
Alon USA Energy Inc. (ALJ) said Aug. 4 a compressor trip forced
the shutdown of the FCCU at its 67,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Big
Spring, Texas.
BP Plc (BP) shut one of three crude units at its 405,000
barrel-a-day refinery in Whiting, Ind., for unplanned repairs, a
person familiar with operations said Aug. 3.
ExxonMobil Corp. (XOM) on July 30 reported emissions at its huge
Baytown, Texas, oil refinery during the planned shutdown of
Hydrofining Unit 3, which removes impurities from reformer
feedstocks. The unit was in the process of shutting down as planned
Saturday when an associated tower overpressured, releasing
emissions to the flare system, the company said in a report to
Texas state environmental regulators. The report did not state the
reason for the unit's shutdown or how long it will be out of
service.
Alon USA Energy Inc. (ALJ) recently began turnaround maintenance
at a key gasoline-making unit at its oil refinery in Big Spring,
Texas, a report to Texas state environmental regulators made public
on July 25 said. The date of the unit's return to normal service
wasn't provided.
