GameStop Corp. Announces U.S. National Champion from Xbox Live's Worldwide ``Halo 2'' Online Tournament

GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME)(NYSE:GME.B), the U.S. sponsor of the Xbox
Live Worldwide "Halo 2" tournament, is proud to announce that
Microsoft proclaimed the U.S. National Champion of their first ever
online tournament. Terry Lindle of Harrisburg, Illinois won top
honors on June 3, over 34,000 U.S. contestants, earning the title
of U.S. National Champion. After several days of intense gaming
combat, Lindle was proclaimed the U.S. National Champion by
Microsoft, advancing him to the next round of competition against
the winners of similar battles from 23 other countries around the
world. Lindle, who is working toward his degree in pharmacology at
Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, was flown to Los
Angeles by GameStop, where he represented the U.S. as one of 24
contestants fighting for the title of World Champion on Friday,
June 10. In the World Championship Tournament, Lindle battled for
many hours and advanced to the semi-finals where he finished
fourth. He played from the official U.S. Worldwide "Halo 2" Online
Tournament site at the GameStop store in Norwalk, California at
13925 Pioneer Boulevard. Among the prizes Lindle won from Microsoft
as U.S. National Champion were a Limited Edition half-size Master
Chief Statue, personalized Xbox Live "Halo 2" Championship
sweatshirt and Country Champion Plaque, a Samsung Camcorder and
$500 in cash. GameStop awarded him a $500 gift check and a 12-month
subscription to GameInformer Magazine. He was competing for the
World Championship prize package of a 50 inch Samsung Flat Screen
DLP HDTV, a Samsung DVD Player/Recorder, a Personalized Xbox Live
"Halo 2" Global Champion Trophy featuring a 27 karat gold "Halo 2"
