New senior-focused center will be the first of
its kind in the area
Partners in Primary Care (Partners) is bringing innovative,
senior-focused primary care to Gaston County with the opening of
its new medical center in Gastonia later this month.
Partners’ facilities allow patients to receive many of their
primary care needs, such as physician services, treatment,
diagnostic testing, basic laboratory services and immunizations,
conveniently in one location. The Gastonia center, located at 2910
East Franklin Blvd, Suite 1., will be staffed by a board-certified
doctor and care team who have been specially trained to treat the
senior population.
The new center will specialize in serving patients with Medicare
Advantage. While some doctor’s offices may be limiting the number
of Medicare Advantage patients they see, Partners is focused on
this demographic and hopes to attract patients who may be feeling
unsatisfied or underserved in their current situation.
Partners will work with patients and their families to provide
support, remind patients of screenings and exams, thoroughly
explain medical information and advocate for patients when
communicating with specialists, hospitals and Medicare plans.
“We’re excited to bring comprehensive care to the Medicare
population in Gastonia,” said Dr. Erica Savage-Jeter, Partners
Medical Director. “Our passion is providing seniors with in-depth
care that focuses on their unique health and well-being needs.”
To improve medication adherence and streamline the communication
process between doctors and patients, the center will have a retail
pharmacy located within the clinic location, which will open in
October. The pharmacy aims to provide Medicare patients with
clinical support and prescriptions in the same building as their
physician’s office.
The center also will feature an activity center offering health
education classes, fitness demonstrations and various activities
designed specifically for seniors, a population in North Carolina
poised to become the fastest growing in the state.
The North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management reports
that by 2030 about one in four people in North Carolina will be
over the age of 60, and people over 85 will be fastest growing
segment of the population.
Partners is part of a larger family of senior-focused primary
care centers with more than 60 locations in South Carolina, Florida
and Texas, along with four new centers scheduled to open in the
Kansas City market later this fall All Partners facilities
specialize in offering services to recipients of Medicare
Advantage.
