Health-insurance provider Humana Inc. (HUM) on Tuesday named
William Shrank, MD, MSHS, as the company's new chief medical
officer, effective April 1.
He will succeed Roy A. Beveridge, M.D., who said last year he
would retire from Humana in the course of 2019. Dr. Beveridge will
remain with the company for a few months to ensure a smooth
transition, Humana said.
Dr. Shrank joins Humana from the University of Pittsburgh
Medical Center, where he served since 2016 as Chief Medical
Officer, Insurance Services Division. Prior to that, he worked at
CVS Health and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation,
part of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
