Raytheon Technologies Corp. said Monday that Gregory J. Hayes
has been appointed chairman, in addition to his role as chief
executive.
Mr. Hayes's appointment coincides with the retirement of
Executive Chairman Thomas A. Kennedy, who plans to step down on
June 1, the Waltham, Mass.-based aerospace and defense company
said.
Mr. Hayes served as chairman and CEO of United Technologies
Corp. before that company's merger with Raytheon Co. last year. At
United Technologies, Mr. Hayes oversaw the divestiture of Sikorsky
Aircraft, the acquisition of Rockwell Collins and spinoffs of Otis
Elevator Co. and Carrier Corp.
Mr. Kennedy was Raytheon's chairman and CEO before the merger.
He has worked at Raytheon for 38 years.
