Salomon Brothers Capital and Income Fund Inc. ("Fund"), which is
traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "SCD,"
announced today the results of the votes cast at the Fund's annual
meeting of shareholders held on February 27, 2006. Carol L. Colman
and Daniel P. Cronin were elected as Class I Directors of the Fund
to hold office until the annual meeting of stockholders in the year
2009 or thereafter when respective successors are duly elected and
