Passenger traffic
In August 2009, passenger traffic at Aéroports de Paris
(Paris:ADP) (Pink Sheets:AEOPF) dropped by 3.5% compared to August
2008. Paris airports handled a total of 8.1 million passengers
divided up between 5.7 million for Paris-Charles de Gaulle
(-4.5%) and 2.4 million for Paris-Orly (-1.1%).
- International traffic (excluding
Europe) decreased by 3.9%. Traffic on routes to and from Africa saw
a 1.6% decrease. Traffic on North America routes fell by 4.8% while
Latin America dropped by 9.1%. On Middle Eastern and Asian routes,
traffic dropped by 7.4% and 1.9% respectively.
- European traffic (excluding
France) fell by 4.1% including -4.2% on Schengen routes and -5.7%
for the British and Irish markets.
- Domestic traffic stood at
-3.0%.
- The number of connecting
passengers decreased by 2.2% in August 2009 compared with August
2008 with a connecting rate of 25.4% (compared with 24.9% in August
2008).
For the first eight months of the year, passenger traffic
decreased by 5.6%. For the same period, the number of connecting
passengers decreased by 4.3% resulting in a connecting rate of
24.2% (against 23.9% for the first eight months of 2008).

Aircraft movements
The number of aircraft movements saw a 6.9% decrease in August
2009 year on year (-8.1% at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and -3.8% at
Paris-Orly). The passenger load factor reached 80.6% compared with
78.99% in August 2008.
