           APPLICATION FOR LISTING AND SHARE CAPITAL UPDATE

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for the block listing of
929,644 Amlin plc Ordinary Shares of 25p each fully paid, ranking, when issued,
pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary shares, to be
admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the
London Stock Exchange. These shares will be allotted pursuant to the exercise of
options under the Amlin Approved Share Option Scheme 1997 as and when such
options are exercised.

The issued share capital of Amlin plc, following a recent exercise of options,
is now (and was at the year end on 31 December 2003) 390,871,916 Ordinary Shares
of 25p each. Recently issued shares in respect of such option exercise are
included within block listings previously granted by the UK Listing Authority
and the London Stock Exchange
