Hannover House will release five new feature films to theaters
during the summer and early fall seasons with an exciting line-up
to be presented at the CinemaCon Show in Las Vegas next week. Each
of the theatrical titles will open in the key markets of New York,
Los Angeles, Chicago and other top 20 DMAs, with significant,
nationwide expansion plans slated for three of the five releases.
Hannover House is the entertainment division of Target Development
Group, Inc., (PINKSHEETS: TDGI).
The CinemaCon 2011 title line-up from Hannover House
includes:
"Turtle: The Incredible Journey," a nature
documentary and family adventure from director Nick Stringer
("National Geographic Explorer," "Meerkat Manor") will launch in
selected markets June 24th, with a national expansion planned for
mid-July. The film will be released to theaters in three formats:
35mm, Digital Cinema Prints and RealD 3D, following a release and
expansion pattern mirroring the similarly-appealing "March of the
Penguins." Hannover House is in negotiations with SeaWorld Parks
for a variety of promotions that could support a much wider
theatrical release for the film during the summer.
"All's Faire In Love," a major romantic
comedy from director Scott Marshall starring Christina Ricci, Owen
Benjamin, Cedric The Entertainer and Matthew Lillard, will launch
to theaters beginning July 29th. The film will enjoy cross
promotional support from a variety of Renaissance Faire events
across the country throughout the summer, designed to build
awareness and word of mouth for the theatrical release. The film
was produced by Patriot Pictures ("Air Force One," "Material
Girls").
"Girlfriend," the acclaimed drama from the
Toronto International Film Festival and director Justin Lerner,
will open in selected markets on September 9th. The film stars
Jackson Rathbone, Shannon Woodward and an impressive debut
performance by Evan Sneider, who portrays a teen with Down
Syndrome.
"Thru The Moebius Strip," a $25-million
dollar CGI animated feature from director Glenn Chaika ("The
Adventures of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina"), Fantastic Films and CDG
Studios, will launch September 30th in key markets. The
breakthrough sci-fi adventure will be promoted through traditional
theatrical means, and an additional "free comic book" promotion to
distribute more than 500,000 copies of a 16-page, "Moebius Strip"
teaser in theater lobbies during the summer.
"Cook County," the acclaimed festival
drama from director David Pomes, featuring rapidly rising star
Anson Mount (star of the upcoming new AMC-TV series "Hell on
Wheels") will launch to theaters beginning October 28th. The gritty
story of a drug ravaged family has been compared to "Winter's Bone"
in both subject matter and intensity.
In addition to these CinemaCon announcements, Hannover House has
acquired the distribution rights to three additional features,
theatrical release details for which will be announced later.
