10:42 ET -- Starbucks Corp. is one of the most talked about companies in the U.S. across all news items in the last 12 hours, according to Factiva data. Starbucks said Thursday that it named Laxman Narasimhan as its new chief executive officer, months after former head Howard Schultz temporarily took over to help the company navigate through rising costs, challenges in its China market and a unionization push. Mr. Narasimhan said he would step down from Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC on Sept. 30. Starbucks shares were down 0.2% at$85.26 at 10:42 a.m. ET. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva. (chris.wack@wsj.com)
