American Airlines Offers Customers Shorter Flights for Fewer AAdvantage Miles

FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Back by popular demand,
American Airlines is making it easier for customers to take to the
skies when booking their next award trip. With short-hop MileSAAver
awards, customers can fly round-trip on nonstop routes under 750
air miles one way within the continental United States and Canada
for a reduced number of AAdvantage miles when booking award travel
on the AA.com Web site. Available for travel through Feb. 28, 2006,
economy Class round-trip awards are available for just 15,000
miles, a 10,000-mile savings. First or Business Class round-trip
awards require only 30,000 miles, a savings of 15,000 miles. "The
response we received from customers last year was overwhelming, as
more than 80,000 short-hop awards were claimed," said Kurt Stache,
President- American Airlines AAdvantage Marketing Programs. "As the
world's largest travel rewards program, we are making it easier
than ever for customers to use their miles and enjoy traveling.
Now, customers can get that vacation experience and do more
spontaneous travel this winter." Awards are valid for nonstop
short-hop flights operated by American Airlines, American Eagle or
AmericanConnection carriers. AAdvantage members can check award
availability using the AAdvantage HotSpots calendar on AA.com. The
green color indicates the best opportunity for MileSAAver award
availability. Sample short-hop markets include popular city pairs
like Chicago-Atlanta, Chicago-Philadelphia, Dallas/Fort
Worth-Denver, Los Angeles-San Francisco and Boston-Raleigh/Durham.
