DataLogic International's Panther Trak(TM) GPS Product Named a Finalist for AeA High-Tech Awards IRVINE, Calif., March 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DataLogic International, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: DLGI; Berlin, Frankfurt Stock Exchange: 779612) a technology and professional services company providing a wide range of consulting services and telecommunications products such as VoIP equipment and GPS vehicle tracking devices, today announced that its GPS product Panther Trak(TM) has been selected as a finalist in the Devices category for the Twelfth Annual High-Tech awards, hosted by the AeA Orange County Council. "We are very excited to be nominated for the AeA High-Tech Award," commented Keith Moore, Chairman and CEO of DataLogic International, Inc. "The development of Panther Trak has been an evolutionary process, one which DataLogic has undertaken with conviction and is now leading to commercial success. We have begun large-scale production of Panther Trak, and this nomination provides further confirmation of the commitment we have to our development process. We are proud of this acknowledgement." Panther Trak takes GPS a step further than the commonly understood GPS product. In its most common application, it becomes part of a system that is used for real-time vehicle management services including theft detection, recovery, and tracking. The Panther Trak device consists of a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and a wireless modem that communicates with Personal Communication System (PCS) networks including AT&T, T-Mobile, Cingular and more. It can be programmed to allow complete control from a user's cell phone, PC, or landline. It is capable of customized functions, such as disabling the vehicle or locking its doors using a cell phone from anywhere in the world. The wireless device, installed in a hidden location in the vehicle, can be programmed to issue an alert in the event of a vehicle theft. Using a stand-alone or web-based interface, users can query a vehicle for its location along with information such as airbag deployment, theft alarm status, speed, direction, and time idle. The Panther Trak base station's Web-based interface relays data received from a vehicle-mounted GSM/GPRS or CDMA 1xrtt mobile device, using information obtained from the GPS. All messages originating from Panther Trak are UTC time-stamped, and a mathematical algorithm is used to ensure successful delivery of critical messages. Customers can access their fleet information from anywhere in the world. Full network support for both Internet and Intranet is included. Panther Trak has been successfully tested in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Mexico, China and Latin America. DataLogic provides Panther Trak with multiple language support, and the product is currently shipping in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Other languages can be added. DataLogic is forming strategic alliances with Application Service Providers to provide base stations to serve local markets worldwide, and can also customize an application specific base station to meet a customer's unique needs.
