European Film Market (Berlin) and Slate update

Intandem Films plc, the London based international film group which trades as Intandem Media Group, is pleased to provide an update ahead of next month's European Film Market ('EFM').

Intandem announced a restructuring on 23 January and its sales division will trade as Manifest Film Sales Limited ('Manifest') for the first time during the festival. It continues to develop its portfolio of films - a number of which have or are soon expected to go into production while it is planning a number of screenings in Berlin to help further grow its sales pipeline.

European Film Market, Berlin

In Berlin, Manifest will focus on driving sales for Gagarin: First in Space, Vendetta and Believe in addition to introducing Assassin, Red Billabong and Top Dog with a view to inviting offers for their sale before and at the Cannes Film Festival, which is due to take place in May.

Gagarin: First in Space is a completed feature film which is produced by Oleg Kapanets and Igor Tolstunov and directed by Pavel Parkhomenko. This Russian language movie is about Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin who became the first man in space in April 1961. 2014 is the 80(th) anniversary of Gagarin's birth and significant worldwide media exposure is expected which will help to drive sales. For more information please see announcement dated 4 November 2013.

Vendetta is a completed action thriller produced by Jonathan Sothcott (The Fall of the Essex Boys, Devils Playground) of Richwater Films and directed by Stephen Reynolds. It stars Danny Dyer (The Football Factory, Severance, The Business) and centres on the story of Jimmy - a fierce warrior forged on the battlefield, who now wants to exact revenge on the thugs that murdered his parents. For more information please see announcement dated 2 October 2013.

Believe (formerly known as Theatre of Dreams) has received an offer for US distribution and seen renewed interest in territories not traditionally associated with football in the run up to the World Cup in Brazil - and since the recent DVD success of The Class of '92 (a cinematic documentary detailing the rise to prominence and sporting stardom of six talented young Manchester United footballers). It stars Natascha McElhone and Brian Cox. Set in 1984, the film is a funny and touching fictional tale about the legendary Manchester United football manager Sir Matt Busby, who helps a wayward boy fulfil his dream. For more information please see announcement dated 14 May 2012.

In addition, Manifest will be introducing the following films at the European Film Market in Berlin (both of which are in post production):

Assassin is directed by JK Amalou (Hard Men, Deviation). The film stars Martin and Gary Kemp and marks the first time the brothers, both former Spandau Ballet band members, have partnered in a film since cult classic The Krays. For more information please see announcement dated 2 October 2013.

Top Dog, which has finished filming, is directed by Martin Kemp (The Krays). Last year it became the fourth fully financed feature film collaboration with producer Jonathan Sothcott of Richwater Films, which further demonstrates an evolving mutually beneficial commercial relationship between the two parties. For more information please see announcement dated 11 November 2013.

About the European Film Market

The European Film Market (EFM) runs for nine days in February as part of one of the most important film festivals in the world, the Berlinale. As the first major film event of the year, it is a magnet for international industry professionals, and is seen as a barometer for the upcoming year in film.

The EFM is the business centre of the festival, taking place in the magnificent renaissance exhibition hall of the Martin-Gropius-Bau (MGB), and in the official second location at the EFMMarriott Offices and Stands in the deluxe modern Marriott Hotel, both just minutes away from the festival headquarters at Potsdamer Platz in the heart of contemporary Berlin. A mix of old and new, innovative and historical - it is a city full of contradictions, whose highly charged atmosphere is reflected in the energy of the Market.
