AIM RELEASE

KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY NL (the Company) (AIM: KDC)
GEM DIAMONDS AUSTRALIA PTY LTD TAKEOVER OFFER

Gem Diamonds Australia Pty Ltd (Gem Diamonds) has increased its substantial
holding in the Company's issued capital to 44.68% (191,691,986 ordinary fully
paid shares) and, in accordance with the provisions of the Corporations Act
2001, has lodged the appropriate Form 604 with ASX and ASIC.

Gem Diamonds has also lodged a notice of change under the Acceptance Facility
set out in the First Supplementary Bidder's Statement dated 14 September 2007,
as detailed below.
