Board changes
Mitie Group plc ("Mitie"), the facilities management and
consultancy business, today announces succession plans for the
position of Group Finance Director.
Over 12 months ago the Board commenced a detailed review of its
succession plans and Suzanne Baxter requested that the role of
Group Finance Director be considered as a part of that process.
Following the recent appointment of Phil Bentley as Chief Executive
Officer, the Board can now announce that Suzanne will step down as
Group Finance Director of Mitie and from the Board on 10 February
2017. The Board is pleased to announce that Sandip Mahajan has been
appointed to succeed her in the role. Sandip joins Mitie today, and
will assume the position of Chief Financial Officer and be
appointed to the Board on 10 February 2017.
Suzanne will provide on-going support to the Board and the
incoming CFO as required to ensure an effective transition of
responsibilities as Mitie approaches its year end.
Sandip brings a wide range of financial and accounting
experience, including most recently at Balfour Beatty PLC, where he
served as Group Director of Finance from 2013-16 and held other
roles in project and structured finance in the successful
Investments Division from 2005 - 2013. He was previously at Ernst
& Young and British Airways Plc. Sandip is a Fellow of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and holds
an LLB honours law degree from Leicester University.
Roger Matthews, Chairman of Mitie, said:
"I would like to thank Suzanne for the significant contribution
she has made to Mitie over the past 11 years. Since her appointment
as Group Finance Director in 2006 she has been a key architect of
the successful growth throughout this period and in transforming
the capability of the FM business to be a market leader in the UK.
On behalf of the Board, I wish Suzanne every success for the
future."
Phil Bentley, CEO of Mitie, said:
"I would like to offer my thanks to Suzanne for her support
during the transition, and I wish her the best for the future. I am
delighted that Sandip is joining Mitie. He brings a wealth of
experience in financing and in improving the operational
performance of long term contracts. I am sure he will make a
significant contribution to Mitie and I look forward to working
with him."
Sandip was a director of Balfour Beatty Finance No. 2 Ltd from 5
November 2013 until 30 September 2016. It is confirmed that there
are no further details to be disclosed pursuant to LR 9.6.13R.
