Western & Oriental plc, the specialist and luxury travel group, confirms that as 
of today's date it has approximately 260 customers in overseas destinations who 
have been unable to return to the UK at the end of their holiday as a result of 
the closure of much of Northern Europe's airspace due to volcanic dust in the 
atmosphere since Thursday of last week. The Group is working closely with all 
parties to help reduce the impact on client's affected travel plans, with help 
and support being provided to all customers where their return to home has been 
delayed. 
 
Forward customer bookings are continuing on a daily basis albeit at reduced 
levels due to the uncertainty of departure dates. Cancellations are not material 
at this stage with the majority of customers re-booking for a later departure 
date. Fortunately for the Group we are now entering a relatively low season of 
activity with the ski season finished and the traditional sun destinations only 
just starting. 
 
Any material costs associated with this one off natural disaster will be shown 
as separately disclosed items in the annual results for the year to 30 September 
2010.
