Continuing Exploration at El Tigre Discovers Molybdenum Mineralization Representing New Exploration Opportunity

PR Newswire (US)
LAS VEGAS, May 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- (OTC Bulletin Board:
HMSO; Frankfurt: XZA) Hemis Corporation is an international
resource company with several advanced stage exploration properties
in Mexico and a project in Cook Inlet, Alaska. Hemis' Santa Rita
property in Mexico has an Earn-In Agreement with Goldcorp Inc.
(TSX: G; NYSE: GG) through Goldcorp's Mexican subsidiary Glamis
Exploration. Hemis Corporation is pleased to announce that ongoing
exploration at its El Tigre project has discovered potential for
significant molybdenum mineralization. Previous work at El Tigre
has discovered multiple zones of gold-bearing breccias. The
discovery of potential for molybdenum represents a new exploration
opportunity at El Tigre for the Company. Dr. Douglas Oliver, Chief
Geologist for the Company states "This represents an entirely new
exploration opportunity at El Tigre." Dr. Oliver goes on to say
that it is very unusual to explore for two entirely different types
of mineral deposits within the same project area.
Molybdenum-bearing veins were found in three locations on the La
Centela concessions. The average from the samples taken from these
veins was 0.7% Mo. Elevated tungsten levels were also found in some
of the samples. Analyses were performed at the ALS ChemEx lab in
Hermosillo, Mexico. Molybdenum is most commonly produced from large
bulk-tonnage deposits called "moly porphyry systems." "Three
characteristics of moly porphyries are granite or rhyolite host
rocks, multiple intrusion events and the presence of molybdenum in
the system," Dr. Oliver states. "With the presence of molybdenum we
now have all the necessary ingredients needed to create a moly
porphyry." Molybdenum is a silvery-white metal used in the
production of steel, pigments and catalysts. Since 2002 the price
of this metal has more than quadrupled due to increased global
steel-making capacity. Exploration for a moly porphyry deposit at
La Centela will be performed in conjunction with the gold
exploration program at El Tigre. Plans are to drill an initial deep
core hole early in the summer of 2007. About Hemis Corporation
