Further to the appointment of Peter John Close as Chief Executive of KBC
Advanced Technologies plc on 1 December 2003, the company announces that on 1
December 2003 Mr Close was granted an option over 500,000 ordinary shares for
nil consideration. The exercise price is #0.37 per share and the shares will be
exercisable between 1 December 2006 and 30 November 2013. After this grant, the
total number of shares over which Mr Close has an option is 500,000.
